At 60 years old he’s probably a bit set in his ways. No really, some just bite. I have 7 parrots and can only handle 2 without them trying to bite me. I have an African Grey that would bite me if I gave him a chance but he loves my husband. Even at that one day they can be perfectly fine then the next they bite. Can you offer a wooden perch and tell him to step up in order to move him about? Does he only bite when near his cage? I have a B&G that is cage protective and will try to bite if he’s on his cage but away from it I can hold him.
cage protective is a good possibility. did you just get him? or is this a new develpment? If you just got him he may just not like you yet, and at 60 he could just be a grumpy old fart thats set in his ways. Try using a perch to move him, not your hand, and try giving him his fav treat, or at least letting him see you put it near him with your hand.
It is already a common knowledge that Parrots bite, they bite for a lot of reason. They sometimes bite because they are afraid or maybe they are just bored. Biting is also one of their ways to show displeasure, to stop them from biting I personally distract them with objects, however please make sure that the object that you will use in distracting are not scaring them.
