   The bird could be ill. This may sound stupid, but I read about a case where it happened….are you sure it’s your bird?

   Someone stole someone elses well trained, and tame bird, and replaced it with another. Fortunatly the stollen bird had been DNA sexed (new bird was not the same sex). They were able to find out who did it, friends of friends kind of thing, and have their bird returned.

   Definitely sounds like illness to me. I would get a Veterinary exam / culture / bloodwork done immediately.

   Has anything in the house changed? New baby, roommate, moved the cage.. etc? Sometimes stress can case a bird to zip-it.

   Sometimes a sudden change to your bird’s environment will set your bird off. I had a cockatoo who flipped out about a black curtain my brother hung in his room. Birds are all different and certain aspects of their environments affect them in specific ways.

   Try to determine through process of elimination if it was something in his environment that changed, otherwise, your bird could be catching an illness and showing its first signs. Contacting your local avian specialist is best so they can do any blood work or fecal exams.
